Personalized Yoga & Embodiment

Trauma-Informed Movement, Breath, and Mindfulness Tailored to You

Yoga does not have to be fast-paced, performative, or one-size-fits-all.

Personalized Yoga & Embodiment offers an individualized space to explore movement, breath, mindfulness, and yogic practices in a way that feels supportive, accessible, and meaningful to you.

Rather than following a predetermined class sequence, each session is thoughtfully shaped around your experience level, preferences, comfort, and personal intentions. You may wish to feel more connected with your body, establish a consistent yoga practice, explore tools for managing everyday stress, or simply create more space to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

All sessions are personally guided by Kristen Janica, founder of Simply Sunshine Co., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified yoga teacher, and trauma-informed yoga practitioner.

More Than a Traditional Yoga Class

A group yoga class must be designed for many people at once. A personalized session allows the practice to meet you where you are.

You do not need to be flexible, experienced, physically fit, or familiar with yoga. Kristen will help you explore practices that feel approachable and appropriate for your body while encouraging curiosity rather than judgment.

Personalized Yoga & Embodiment may incorporate:

  • Gentle and intentional movement
  • Accessible yoga postures and modifications
  • Breath awareness and pranayama
  • Mindfulness and present-moment awareness
  • Grounding practices
  • Somatic and embodied self-awareness
  • Gentle strengthening and stabilizing movement
  • Guided relaxation
  • Yoga philosophy and reflective practices
  • Support in developing a personal home practice

Every session is different because every person arrives with a different body, energy level, intention, and lived experience.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Trauma-informed yoga is not trauma treatment. It is an approach to teaching that emphasizes choice, predictability, personal agency, and respect for each participant’s boundaries.

Throughout your session, Kristen offers options rather than demands and encourages you to remain the authority on your own experience. You are welcome to modify a movement, rest, decline a practice, or change direction at any time.

The goal is not to push through discomfort or perform a pose perfectly. The goal is to develop a more compassionate and responsive relationship with your body.

Sessions are guided by the understanding that:

  • You have choices throughout the practice
  • Your boundaries deserve to be respected
  • There is no single “right” way for a posture to look
  • Rest is a meaningful part of yoga
  • Your internal experience matters more than external performance
  • Movement can be explored gradually and without pressure

The Process

Step One: Personal Yoga Consultation

60-Minute Virtual Consultation — $150

Before beginning personalized sessions, you will meet individually with Kristen to discuss your goals, preferences, experience, and any considerations that may affect your yoga practice.

This conversation may include:

  • Your previous experience with yoga or movement
  • What you hope to receive from the sessions
  • Your movement preferences and comfort level
  • Relevant physical limitations or guidance received from your healthcare provider
  • Practices you enjoy or wish to avoid
  • Your preferred pace and level of challenge
  • Your interest in breathwork, mindfulness, relaxation, or yoga philosophy
  • Your hopes for developing a personal practice

This consultation is not a medical, psychological, or diagnostic assessment. Kristen does not diagnose injuries, evaluate medical conditions, or develop treatment plans through this service.

After the consultation, Kristen will thoughtfully prepare an individualized yoga experience based on the information you have shared.

Step Two: Personalized Yoga & Embodiment Sessions

60-Minute Virtual Session — $95

Each session is created around your intentions and may evolve as your comfort, interests, and personal practice develop.

You might spend one session exploring gentle movement and breath, another building strength and stability, and another focusing on grounding, relaxation, or a specific aspect of yoga philosophy.

Rather than working toward a predetermined outcome, you and Kristen will continue exploring what feels useful, accessible, and meaningful to you.

Who This Is For

Her professional background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker contributes to her understanding of human experience and the importance of emotional sensitivity. However, Personalized Yoga & Embodiment is offered as a yoga and wellness service, not as psychotherapy, clinical social work, or yoga therapy.

Kristen does not teach yoga as a performance.

She creates space for curiosity, choice, and connection.

She does not ask you to force your body into a particular shape.

She helps you explore movement with greater awareness and respect for your own boundaries.

She does not determine what your practice should mean to you.

She supports you in discovering that for yourself.
